Will an Address Book Work for You?
Telephone address books come in all manner of shapes and sizes, and are bound in professional looking covers, as well as some that are a little more whimsical and personalized. They are a great addition to any office space, and some would argue that they are a better option than the contacts list on your smartphone.
We have all become a little too dependent on our mobile devices, yet despite that need to always be online and available, we are pretty bad at making sure those devices stay charged and with us at all times. A phone address book never runs out of battery power, and will have all the information we need available with the flip of a page or two. That alone is a good reason to invest in an address book, but it is certainly not the only one.
You might wonder why a telephone address book is a necessity when you have huge amounts of storage on your digital device, but let’s pause for a moment at think about when someone might give you their contact information. In today’s world, that information will more than likely be delivered when you are talking to someone on the phone. You are going to need to scribble said information down somewhere to add to your contact list when the call is done, so why not put it into an address book where you can properly organize your contact, and have a back-up.
It is perhaps the need for a back-up that is your most important reason for investing in phone address book. Smartphones and other mobile devices are certainly great, but they are not necessarily built to last. If you lose that device or drop it and break it, are you sure that you are going to have access to all your contacts? How many times have you been on social media and seen a friend asking everyone to DM them with their contact info because said friend lost or broke their phone? It can and will happen, and an address book prepares you for that eventuality.
The Low Cost of a Telephone Address Book
The great news here is that you can get your hands on an address book for as little as a few dollars. It is literally a very small price to pay for an effective back-up for your contact list, and you also have space to add other little notes about each individual person in the phone address book, which can come in very handy if you are using it for business purposes.
